Ross Murray

Started with CBS radio in October 1949

Transferred to TV in 1954.  Finished my time with CBS as head of Sound Effects and post-production.

Retired in 1980..to a little town in Mendocino County called Boonville.  It is one of a number of small towns in the Anderson Valley, a big wine-growing area.

Anyway, I decided to get into civic work when I got here.  During the first ten years I served as president of the Anderson Valley Chamber of commerce for a couple of years, Commander of the American Legion for a couple, Member of the Mendocino County Grand Jury for two years, foreman for one.

About ten years ago I hooked up with the NPR radio station in the valley and began a second life as a political commentator.  For six years I did a one hour a month political review and then went to a nice little slot on the Wednesday night news at six o'clock.  Four times a year I do a one hour wrap-up in addition.

Having a wonderful time...getting old but not giving a damn about it.
