Lee Brand, BIO
I was the Supervisor of Operations Scheduling (TVC) in the mid '60s.
When Wendy Blair (RIP)
left to begin married life, I was her replacement. I began my time at Television
City in 1962 as a page. Within a few weeks I found myself working for Jim Lynch
in Stage Operations and then Technical Services for awhile before becoming
Wendy's right hand guy in Scheduling. I think Wendy left in late '64 or early
'65 and I moved up.
I left CBS in '68 to go to work for William Esty Advertising (which folded its
west coast office when cigarette advertising was banned in 1970 -- R.J. Reynolds
was their main client). I had fortuitously moved to Public TV in San Francisco
about 6 mos. before their whole staff was let go and they closed the LA doors.
I learned from Jerry Colet that you would be the one to add my name to the
"master list" on the CBS Retirees site. I've been a Frogs member for a few years
now but have not been able to attend any functions as yet. I did get down for
the memorial for Wendy Blair (Carla's Cafe, Studio Center) a few months back and
reconnected with Dee Baker, George Sunga and Cappy there.
